Transit Toronto Bus Pages
Feature Photo
Like our new look? Well, along with revamping the appearance of Transit Toronto, we’re finally getting around to adding new pages and updating old ones. The photograph above is TTC Twin Coach 970, operating northwest along Yonge Boulevard on Armour Heights service on March 6, 1954. Pete Coulman found this photograph among the Toronto Reference Library’s collection. Buses today still serve this street, but as a branch of the 97 YONGE route. ARMOUR HEIGHTS would soon flip over to Avenue Road and operate for fifty years as one of the Commission’s lowest ridership routes. The Armour Heights bus today lives on as a branch of 61 AVENUE ROAD NORTH.
You can learn about these routes and more at our expanded Toronto Bus Route Histories section.
